Welcome to the very first Fly AmaliAir blog post!

If you're here, chances are you've been bitten by the aviation bug, are considering learning to fly, or simply share a passion for aviation. Whatever brought you here, I'm glad you're along for the journey.

My name is Amalia Andaverde, and I'm the owner of Fly AmaliAir LLC, a Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII), an airline pilot, and an aviation educator. But before any of those titles, I was simply someone with a dream.

My aviation journey began in 2018 with a discovery flight at Arizona Active Air in Yuma, Arizona. Like many aspiring pilots, I had no idea that a single flight would completely change the trajectory of my life. That experience sparked a passion that led me to pursue flight training, move across the country to attend the American Airlines Cadet Academy, earn my flight instructor certificates, and eventually achieve my goal of becoming an airline pilot.

Today, I have the privilege of living a true full-circle moment. Through Fly AmaliAir's partnership with Arizona Active Air, I now instruct students in the very same aircraft I completed my first discovery flight in. Every time I walk out to that airplane, I am reminded that big dreams often begin with a single opportunity.

Fly AmaliAir was created with a simple mission: to make aviation more approachable, accessible, and achievable for anyone willing to pursue it. Whether you're interested in a discovery flight, working toward your Private Pilot Certificate, advancing your ratings, or simply seeking guidance on how to begin your aviation journey, my goal is to provide personalized instruction and mentorship tailored to your individual needs.

Beyond flight instruction, I am deeply committed to aviation education and community outreach. As a Drone Professor at Arizona Western College, an airline pilot, and founder of the ALAS Foundation, I have seen firsthand how exposure and mentorship can transform lives. Aviation is more than a career—it's a community, and I believe in helping others find their place within it.

This blog will serve as a place to share aviation insights, training tips, student success stories, industry updates, and behind-the-scenes experiences from life as a flight instructor, educator, and airline pilot.
